Why The Dub Paramedic?

The Dub Paramedic brand started as a nickname from a sound who regularly hires me for dub work. We all know that the dubplate industry can be a gamble if you’re not recording out of your own studio, and when bad files are sent, it can seem like a lost cause. But as the nickname implies, I’ve been able to bring back some pretty hopeless dubs from the dead, to make them sound even better than some dubs with good recording.

With years of experience in the industry, I understand the various needs of dubplates for sound systems, whether it’s juggling or clash style. From Foundation to Classic Dancehall to modern era music, I can mix, remix and create the perfect vibe for your dub to play out at your next event.

My love for dubplate culture has now led me to creating the Dub Paramedic dubplate service. As a dub collector myself, I understand the passion and patience it takes to build a dub box.

And then there’s the money. With what dubplates cost these days, doesn’t it makes sense to have the best quality mix possible? Don’t just play those inconsistent (and usually not very good) ties that get sent to you.

Riddim Switch / Dubplate Remix

There are many reasons why you might want to change out the riddim on a dub. Maybe you had an idea and the artists didn’t ride the riddim the way you thought they would. Sometimes if you don’t have a riddim for a dub recording session that day, you get them to voice on a studio riddim, but you have a better version of the same riddim that you want to put it on, but it’s a different speed. Or maybe you just want to update your dubs.

I can change out your dubplates with a new riddim of your choice and remaster it so you can start playing those dubs again, don’t let them go to waste just because you feel the riddim isn’t up to par with the rest of your dub box. In this example, I did the same dub 3 different ways.

Dubplate Mastering

In some cases, you might not have the split file to your dub. Maybe you’re a veteran sound that recorded dubs back in the DAT tape days and don’t have the machine anymore to transfer it, or maybe you lost the original recording. I can help you bring your classic dubs back to life to compete in today’s sound clash.

From re-balancing the vocal-to-riddim level, to just giving it an overall better master quality, there are a number of things I can do to refresh those classics.

Dubplate Rebuild From Scratch

This is different from a standard remaster. Maybe you were never happy with a dub that you don’t have a split for, maybe it was the sound quality, or maybe you felt the riddim should drop in places where it didn’t. There are even some artists who don’t give out a split file. In any of those situations, because you didn’t have the split file, there was nothing you could do about it… until now.

Using a number of techniques that are far more advanced than just using “Serato Stems,” I can break down your dubplate and rebuild it properly to match your vision. Let me know your situation and I’ll help you fix it.
